Reflection for Final Draft

When I received my essay. I felt that my grade was different from what I thought it would have been. Some of the mistakes I made could have been avoided by creating an outline before writing my essay mindlessly. I should have listed all my ideas to make my thoughts more organized. After selecting my central idea for each paragraph, I could have written most of my paragraphs with a focused idea so the reader would have a clear idea on the central theme of the literacy narrative. Also, most of the paragraphs had many unnecessary details that may have disrupted the clear idea of the essay, which I removed or changed.
Also, my teacher’s revisions helped me understand the many grammatical mistakes that I made in my essay. The lesson on coordinate conjunctions and the clauses also helped me understand the reason behind my grammatical mistakes. Therefore, I checked every sentence if there were any grammatical mistakes that needed to be fixed. Some other key mistakes I made in my essay was that many of my paragraphs did not have a topic sentence and the concluding sentence. Also, my conclusion was not really a conclusion and could have summarized my essay much better. My teacher’s grade for my draft was well-deserved and will try to improve my skills through my understanding of these mistakes.
